Girl at The End Of The Bar Copyright Steve Thew 2012 1. She walks down to the bar At the end of her day she’s not much to look at there’s something I’ll say she sits down on her stool and brush / es back her hair she looks as if she’s staying yeah / she orders a beer. Chorus The girl / at the end / of the Bar She sings my songs I Hear her / from afar. The girl at the end of the bar. There’s no-one here ‘cept / you me / my guitar. 2. The next night/ she comes back Same place / same chair. I think this time / she’s seen me She gives me a stare. I see a smile across her lips Then gives me wink then lights up a cigarette The smoke makes her blink Bridge Is it me, Is it destiny She is here All alone with me Or is it just that she’s here for fear of going home where there’s no one dear. 3. The next night / she’s not there I look towards the stair She wont be back to To smile at me Brush back her hair I overheard the bar man say she’d shifted away She sang my songs Good luck to her is all I’ll have to say The girl / at the end / of the Bar She sang my songs Good luck to her/ is all I’ll say The girl at the end of the bar. In memory I’ll see you from afar.
